Colchester Half-Marathon was back last week and saw thousands of runners and spectators take to the streets of our city.
The sun was shining and conditions were ideal for the 2,000 runners taking part in the event on Sunday morning.
At Sarah’s Coffee Shop, we were super proud to be a sponsor of the event. As a Colchester business, it is so important for us to support the city's events such as the popular half-marathon.
I had the pleasure of taking part in the run, and I really enjoyed it! I completed it in 2 hours and 36 minutes. That’s something I never thought I would be writing, so to say I am chuffed is an understatement!
I wanted to share the joy with our customers by offering fellow runners 50% off their hot drinks all this week.
Participants in this year's race were encouraged to lend their support to the Robin Cancer Trust, a charity based in Essex that provides assistance to young individuals affected by cancer.
We opened the shop on the day, providing a cosy place for runners and their friends and family to have a few drinks.
Sarah’s Coffee Shop was fully equipped to boost the spirits of the runners and their companions by serving them a delicious cup of coffee.
A cheering squad were also outside the shop sharing the positive vibes.
We loved seeing so many happy faces and it was an amazing feeling crossing the finish line with my fellow racers. I certainly felt like I’d earnt myself a cuppa after such a long run!
