If you’ve come to see us at our Colchester branch, then chances are you’ve been served by our city’s resident coffee queen, Jacqui.
Coming up to two years in the team, we sat down with Jacqui to learn more about what she loves about working at Sarah’s Coffee Shop.
What made you join the team?
I went out for a coffee with my husband one morning and enjoyed a slice of delicious homemade cake – then noticed an advertisement on the door asking for an assistant to cover lunchtime.
The following week after a trial, I was invited to join Sarah and the friendly team.
After a couple of months I was given the chance to do some barista training and was delighted to succeed and provide our customers the highest quality service.
What’s your favourite thing about the job?
I love providing customers with a personal, friendly experience.
It is great seeing regular customers who enjoy us knowing what their favourite order is – and the friendly chats we have together.
That’s what makes Sarah’s Coffee Shop so unique and such a great place to both visit and work.
What are your favourite things on the menu?
My personal favourite is a tuna, sweetcorn and mayonnaise sandwich.
I pair that with a coconut latte – I just love fish and our coffee is divine.
What do you get up to outside of work?
I love to keep fit, so I really enjoy my spin, circuit and Zumba classes.
I’m also a real foodie, so I love going out for meals with my family and discovering something new and tasty to try.
